Gostaria de começar deixando claro às (aos) fãs que durante minha jornada literária até aqui e minha inexplicável fissuração por fanfics, After nunca foi uma obra que me instigou o suficiente para ter curiosidade de ler. Então essa resenha se resume ESTRITAMENTE aos filmes e particularmente ao 3: After — depois do desencontro.
Seguindo essa linha de pensamento também quero esclarecer desde já que é com certeza uma obra que não me agrada. E concordo que falar sobre a toxidade do relacionamento deles é um ponto importante para o desenrolar da trama, mas não é exatamente o ponto que eu gostaria de analisar, afinal chegou um momento em que eu estava rindo tanto da história que me questionei se era realmente um romance/drama.
O ponto é que nesse universo existem milhares de coisas que podem ser melhoradas, principalmente sobre a evolução da personagem principal, Tessa, que para mim progride de 0 para 0,75 ao passar dos filmes. Essa menina precisa aprender a se valorizar, e eu realmente quero que o ponto trabalhado pelo roteirista seja esse (pelo menos nos próximos momentos rs), mas sempre quando eu chego perto de ver uma mudança… pronto, tudo volta ao que era antes. Como ela pode se imaginar construindo uma vida ao lado de uma pessoa que vive um relacionamento de “briga e sexo, sexo e briga”? Um relacionamento em que ocorre UM momento de fofura do Hardin e parece que o mundo inteiro (principalmente a Tessa) se esquece de TODO o resto. Basta ele se ajoelhar chorando aos pés dela que pronto, ela já promete nunca abandona-lo.
O namoro deles é tão absurdo que a minha parte favorita do filme é quando ele, como sempre, ignora a Tessa e vai embora em uma de suas “crises”. Então, ela resolve tomar UMA BEBIDA com um amigo que ela conhece um pouco mais cedo (e sim, por aqueles 15 minutos de cena eu já shippei mais com o tal Robert do que com o próprio protagonista) e então a minha felicidade acaba quando, nesse bar, o Hardin chega do nada e, como sempre, faz uma cena inacreditável de ciúmes – e por assim a trama continua. Mas, mesmo assim, nesses 15 minutos eu já vi como ela é uma pessoa melhor quando está com alguém que realmente faz bem pra ela e valoriza de verdade, sem toxidade.
O filme trabalha bastante sobre a problemática vida de Hardin, tendo cenas que você chega até a sentir dó, mas lembrem: Traumas não justificam violência e abusos. Mas me prendi ao fato de ele criticar tanto seu pai (literalmente o segundo filme todo), e estar se tornando cada vez mais parecido com ele, uma pessoa que desconta tudo na bebida e diz tentar melhorar pela amada a cada cena.
O ciúme doentio, o mal que ele faz à Tessa (passam diversas cenas mostrando como ela “mudou” a vida dele, ou os familiares dizendo que ele faz tudo aquilo porque ele a ama, mas parece que ninguém enxerga o outro lado, o dela), o relacionamento mal explorado do pai e das famílias – sobretudo dos protagonistas, aparecendo só por interesse ou em cenas quaisquer, como a briga desnecessária do bar -, assuntos sem ponto final, as crises pós/antes sexo, o final pela metade, questões mal tratadas, personagens pouco desenvolvidos, e a troca repentina de atores no meio da saga, são motivos para você não gastar o dinheiro do ingresso nesse filme. Existem, ainda, cenas muito aleatórias que poderiam ser retiradas ou substituídas por algum momento mais relevante para desenvolver de fato o longa.
Mas, se você insiste em assistir, deixo aqui motivos para que valha a pena gastar 1h38min do seu dia. Primeiramente, a beleza e o profissionalismo na atuação do elenco. Não apenas o tão comentado Hero Fiennes, como Hardin, realmente deu um “show” com a sensualidade de seu personagem, desde o jeito de andar até a escolhas das roupas, como também a incrível Josephine Langford (extraordinariamente parecida com a Lili Reinhart), como Tessa, faz muito bem o papel de menina boa. O anjinho da trama soube expressar bem as emoções da sua personagem, por mais que muitas vezes ela apenas precisasse ser “tola” ou “bobinha”. Considero também a química tanto dos personagens quanto dos atores principais, que é bem forte e demonstra realmente prazer. Outro ponto é a diversidade dos demais personagens (por mais que o resto do elenco tenha sido trocado), principalmente os “mais velhos”, que brilharam com a atuação em suas respectivas cenas, destacando aqui Stephen Moyer se sobressaindo como Christian Vence. Também tenho que enfatizar a fotografia do filme muito bem trabalhada e, principalmente, a trilha sonora com clássicos como Harry Styles e Kat Leon. Sem contar com o único personagem que merece meu respeito durante esses 3 filmes, o único que enxerga o Hardin como o louco que ele é, London Gibson, que em qualquer de suas versões merece palmas por alguns socos dados no Hardin.
Por fim, para quem é fã da saga, aposto que não perderão a oportunidade de assistir a esse CLÁSSICO. Gostei mais do que os outros dois, porém não acho que valeu a pena gastar meu tempo. Ainda estou curiosa para saber se no final ela vai realmente dar as costas para esse “grande amor” ou vai continuar vivendo essa mesma vida – afinal, a saga é um looping infinito do mesmo filme só com o tempo passando -, mas só saberemos após gastar mais 20 reais no ingresso do próximo filme, vejo vocês por lá?
