Com a promessa de um álbum, o artista se adianta em mais um passo no cenário independente com o single “Medusa”
Nesta quarta, 12, em pleno “Dia dos Namorados”, um trio mais que provável se reuniu para dar à luz um groove brasileiro que remonta às madrugadas paulistanas. Com toques de mitologia grega e ad-libs atmosféricos, a faixa inédita consolida a sinergia de três talentos que se lustram desde os primeiros soluços de suas carreiras.
A parceria marca a primeira reunião de Enzo Koji, Gustavvo e Latrel em uma única faixa, mas está longe da estreia do trio em um estúdio. Essas estrelas se alinham há mais de dois anos, quando começaram a trabalhar juntos por intermédio da gravadora Yellow Lab e o fundador, Theus Terreiro.
Gustavvo e Koji, na verdade, compartilham notas desde o colégio. Os dois se acompanharam nas primeiras faíscas de carreira, e permanecem de mãos dadas nos fogos de artifícios que vem acendendo nos últimos meses. Latrel, apesar de figura nova, já incluiu a dupla de artistas solo na mixtape “Fresh2000”.
Quando “Medusa” foi concebida, ainda durante a gestação, o produtor Gustavvo recuou diante do convite de participar da faixa também como cantor, e deixou a responsabilidade para Latrel, que assumiria sozinho a parceria. Com isso em mente, Koji marcou uma sessão no estúdio e, por intervenção do trânsito de São Paulo, atrasou-se o suficiente para uma surpresa.
“Cheguei no estúdio do Gustavvo, o Latrel já estava lá, e falaram que não conseguiram gravar nada, que teriam que regravar tudo”, relata. “Mas eles estavam brincando comigo. Eles tinham gravado tudo já, e ficou lindo, todo mundo amou, ficamos entusiasmados”.
Ao destacar as novidades do projeto, o artista traz à tona a pegada groove que emprestou do R&B, em especial os desenhos do baixo na música. “Tem uma estética muito definida. Cada um colocou um pouquinho da estética pessoal, e a química dos três ficou muito boa”.
A música guarda uma data simbólica. É um embalo romântico para o Dia dos Namorados, que busca o que a cena inteira parece querer alcançar: identificação. “Espero que abra uma nova fronteira na minha carreira porque nunca fiz um som assim”, exprime.
Fora as expectativas, já confirmadas, de que a faixa compusesse o antecipado primeiro álbum de Enzo Koji, o lançamento não atende à pressão de grandes números. “É o que eu espero de todo som. Não espero números, não espero playlist editorial. Seria muito bom, mas o que realmente me importa é que minha visão artística tenha sido passada para as pessoas”, conclui.
Natural de Jacareí, no interior de São Paulo, e criado na Zona Norte da capital, Enzo Koji segue explorando a afinidade com diferentes estilos musicais, principalmente o TrapSoul e o R&B. Com foco na composição de letras e de projetos para alavancar a carreira, o artista independente que começou em 2019 já acumula mais de 5000 ouvintes mensais no Spotify, a principal agregadora de música e demais produtos sonoros.
Além de “compositor de todas suas músicas, letras autênticas que caminham entre desabafos e vivências pessoais”, Koji se prova obstinado a montar o álbum de estreia, ainda sem nome, previsto para este ano. O projeto, antecipado em suas redes sociais há alguns meses, estima até oito faixas, dentre elas o single “Medusa”, e promete vir ao mundo acompanhado de clipes, uma novidade na carreira promissora de um sonhador obstinado.
